Anthologie is a curated collection of books featuring local design, art, food, fashion and handmade wares in support of Winnipeg charities.
This a very special project for Ayoko Design, not only because it allows a small local business to raise money for the causes that are most important to us, but also because it facilitates our introductions and collaborations with Winnipeg’s diverse creative community. Not only do we have the great privilege of doing what we love best, we also have the honour of promoting Winnipeg’s incredible creative talent.
Our fundraising goal is to make a $25,000 financial contribution to each of the following not-for-profit organizations by donating 100% of the net retail sales profit …
BACK TO NATURE
Habitat for Humanity Manitoba is the local affiliate of a global non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing and to making decent housing a matter of conscience. Since 1987, HFHM has partnered with local businesses, faith groups, and thousands of dedicated volunteers to build homes for over 340 Manitoba families with over 1000 children having a better future. For more, visit habitat.mb.ca.
FASHION UNLEASHED
The Winnipeg Humane Society is Manitoba’s oldest and largest animal welfare agency. The WHS is more than just pet adoption – the shelter offers education programs for children and adults to encourage responsible pet ownership, and a fully-functional veterinary clinic that performs subsidized spay and neuter surgeries for Winnipeggers on fixed or low-income. For more, visit winnipeghumanesociety.ca.
FAMILY, FRIENDS, FOOD AND FUN
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is the most established, most extensive community mental health organization in Canada. Through a presence in more than 330 communities across every province and one territory, CMHA provides advocacy, programs and resources that help to prevent mental health problems and illnesses, support recovery and resilience, and enable all Canadians to flourish and thrive. For more, visit mbwpg.cmha.ca.
DOWN TO EARTH: HOMEMADE SOUPS IN HANDMADE VESSELS VOLUME 2
Winnipeg Harvest is a not-for-profit, community-based organization. They collect and share surplus food with people who are hungry and offer training opportunities to help people step up and out of poverty. For more, visit winnipegharvest.org.
The Winnipeg Art Gallery is a cultural advocate using art to connect, inspire, and inform. Playing a dynamic role in the community, the WAG is a place for learning, dialogue, and enjoyment through art. Each year the WAG partners with the Manitoba Craft Council and the Nunavut Arts and Crafts Association to present CRAFTED: Show + Sale, a one-of-a-kind craft event that brings together craft-based artists from North and South. CRAFTED 2019 is coming up on November 8 and 9, and will showcase 50 artists, many of whom are featured in the Down to Earth cookbook. For more visit wag.ca.
ANTHOLOGIE FUND AT THE WINNIPEG FOUNDATION
Throughout the year, Anthologie will host a variety of different pop-up events in the city. The format for each event will vary, however, each will include a fundraising component that will raise funds for our Anthologie Fund at The Winnipeg Foundation, which will provide an annual grant to several different charities in the Winnipeg community each year.
THE ANTHOLOGIE PROJECT ALSO SUPPORTS
- Local designers, businesses, & makers of handmade wares
- Locally & sustainably sourced manufactured goods, materials, paper & printing
- Sustainable design practices & materials & recycled, upcycled, thrifted & repurposed items
- Animal-friendly alternatives & products not tested on animals
- School groups, youth sports teams, internship & mentoring opportunities
