Red River Exhibition Park – 3977 Portage Avenue

Celebrate Manitoba’s growing community of farmers and fibre artists at the Manitoba Fibre Festival. This two-day event creates an inspirational environment for producers and crafts people to collaborate, learn new skills, and celebrate local resources.

See just how versatile fibre can be; enjoy workshops, demonstrations, a fibre fashion show, and a curated fibre art show in collaboration with the Textile and Fibre Artists of Manitoba. The festival offers 16 workshops including Sewing Infant Moccasins, Sashiko Hand Stitching, and Using Recycled Materials to Make Yarn. Each workshop is led by an experienced fibre artist and is open to anyone with an interest in honing or developing their fibre crafting skills.

The Fleece Show & Sale allows producers from across the country to have their prized fleeces reviewed by our panel of judges. Don’t forget to say hi to the clan of live sheep and alpacas at the Hall of Breeds!

Are you currently working of a fibre project? Bring it along! Seating areas are available for spinners and knitters to gather and create in good company.

The vendors’ market features plenty of gorgeous fibre creations to take home including raw fleeces, hand-dyed yarn, wearable art, and home decor.
